CARRYING THE "TORCH"
Holly Baumann takes the stage in the 1,500 seat, sold
out theater, to interpret classic ballads of the 1930's and the 1940's.
Enter vocalist, Holly Baumann, splendidly clad in a vintage off white
evening gown, replete with elbow length gloves. Miss Baumann held
her own, to say the least. Seemingly very comfortable with the chosen
material, she sang from her soul and projected from her toes. Her
voice has a slight huskiness to it and then can change to the softest
purr. Here timbre more adept at filling a stadium, but in a word,
this decked out diva was fresh, immensely talented and sang with her own
style. No copying here. Holly Baumann sang like herself. Exemplary
was her treatment of "My Funny Valentine", as the melody wound
up and around, she sang with such sublime naturalness, handpicking her
own beautiful melody to finish the phrases within her own tessitura.
Choice notes at every turn. Bravo, Miss Baumann!!!!

SUCH A NIGHT
Holly Baumann steps up to the microphone. She begins
slowly, patiently, to work her soulful magic over the heads of a mystified
multitude. Applause breaks out spontaneously as Baumann's rich,
earthy high notes on the first chorus. She is a beautiful blonde
woman with a voice like a black blues mamma, she gasps with palpable emotion
as she milks the tune for all it's worth. Up on the stage, Baumann
dominates the view. Up close she is every bit as impressive to my
eyes as she is to my ears. Rocking back on her high heeled suede
boots, she puts herself completely into the performance with one helluva
set of lungs

This beautiful blonde has a reputation for rousing performances
and a soulful delivery. Voice-wise Baumann is constantly compared to
an early Tina Turner and Etta James. The ultimate compliment. Her
voice is full of passion, with classic chops. You do not want to
miss this show or this performer. She is a huge force of nature.

UP CLOSE
This is one singer you do not want to miss. From
Atlanta, Georgia, this girl is the real deal. The music she writes
and sings is an offering that smolders and sizzles "with a fire and
beauty that never sacrifices soul for flash". Miss Baumann
says she grew up listening to records by Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin
and Sarah Vaughn. But in addition to an undeniably serious vocal
talent, Baumann also possesses the stunning looks and the sensual moves
of a star.

Suddenly, Holly Baumann appears, her arms opened wide. The crowd screams and jumps to their
feet and begin to cheer. The crowd, as if by some magical force,
snaps back like a rubber band and breaks as the music washes over them. She captures the audience with her potently powerful energy. With
a talent that can only be described as God given, Holly Baumann has
staying power. She is the center of attention on stage. She
is eccentric with a powerful voice and dramatic stage presence. She is very soul-driven with emotional lyrics that have a lot of life
in them that it seems everyone can relate to. Her lyrics come from
her travels and life experiences, which she says, have been "some
good, some painful," and her sultry appearance and natural charisma
come across to make her audience feel intimate. The delicate touch
of her high notes and the depth of her low notes convey the reality of
her past experiences, laying bare her feelings for all to see. "I
love to be outside with nature, living in a treehouse for three years
will get you in touch with yourself and your thoughts. That's
where it has been for me and I will always return to nature. It
is where I feel the most beautiful with the exception of the stage,"
Baumann says. "I have been out on the road for the most part,
since I was 15 years old, with very few breaks here and there. It
is what I love, it is my life." Baumann finally gets her chance to
shine in the spotlight and show everybody exactly who she is.

Sultry vocalist Holly Baumann will celebrate her comeback
to Atlanta with a sold out show. She will treat all of us to choice cuts
from her latest Jazz album, which she recorded in Los Angeles with Etta
James's Band over the past couple of years. It is a fantastic album and
she has certainly got the voice. It has grown richer and stronger,
if that could be even possible. She is also working to complete her newest
album, "Chapstick Logic", that she has been writing and recording
at Ocean Way, in Nashville, over the past few months. She will share with
us all of her stories and emotional tales. She graces us with her presence
once more before she departs to go tour and live in London. Atlanta, unfortunately,
can't keep this one. This songbird has yet flown again.
